Job Summary
Reporting to the campus department instructional leader, adjunct instructors provide assistance to students in their learning process by utilizing all appropriate college resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process providing a direct impact to student success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements
Accepts and teaches classes based on varied schedules and modalities (Dual Credit, On-Campus, Online or Weekend College) as assigned by designated supervisorAccommodates student needs and external stakeholders' expectations of the CollegePrepares and delivers instruction to students following the College Master Syllabus using the approved learning management systemCommunicates regularly with students and college officials, including responding to e-mails, calls, and requests for meetingsIndependently pursues activities to enhance subject matter expertise, skills in various modes of instruction, and knowledge of learningPrepares assignments and assessments to assure achievement of learning outcomesDesigns and maintains an active classroom environment conducive to student learning and successMaintains student attendance records weekly and certifies student enrollments by the established deadlineEvaluates student performance and learning in accordance with discipline and department standardsProvides regular and timely evaluation feedback to students, posts grades in the learning management system weekly, and submits final grades by the established deadlineAssigns grades consistent with course requirementsAssists in College's commitment to assessing student learning outcomes and program learning outcomes and to achieving institutional performance measuresAccepts assignments as necessary at other sites such as for dual credit coursesService Excellence
Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the CollegeComplete all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)Attends the workplace regularly and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksiteAdheres to College policies and proceduresAdheres to applicable safety proceduresRequired Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in AccountingThree (3) years of non-teaching work experience in AccountingDegree must be from a regionally accredited college or universityPreferred Qualifications
Work experience in the discipline / teaching areaExperience teaching a class or facilitating trainingTeaching experience utilizing active learning techniques, service learning and innovative technologyExperience teaching in Dual Credit and Early College High School programsPrevious online teaching experienceBachelor\'s degree or higher in Accounting or Bachelor\'s degree or higher with eighteen (18) hours in AccountingWork experience in Accounting within the last 5 yearsCurrent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenseKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
