Viasat's Global Security team is seeking an on-call Security Assistant to support our Corporate Headquarters in Carlsbad, CA. This role plays a key part in protecting our people, assets, facilities, and sensitive informationcritical elements of Viasat's comprehensive security program.

The Day-To-Day

• Direct and escort vendors, contractors, and other visitors throughout the campus
• Provide security oversight of contractor activities and maintain situational awareness for the Security Operations team
• Understand, follow, and enforce Viasat's security and access control policies
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to interact courteously and effectively with a diverse range of individuals
• Follow detailed instructions and execute assigned tasks with precision
• Exhibit strong situational awareness and sound judgment
• Deliver excellent customer service to employees, guests, and partners
• Candidates demonstrating strong performance and reliability may be given exposure to additional duties within physical, administrative, information, and cyber security operations

What You'll Need

• Flexibility to work variable hours and on an as-needed basis to support operational requirementsideal for individuals who are retired, attending school, or seeking supplemental income

• High School Diploma or GED

• U.S. Citizenship

• Valid California driver's license

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance

• Ability to work out of the Carlsbad, CA office location

This position includes operation of a company vehicle and will require a valid driver's license and compliance with the Viasat Vehicle Driver Policy. A detailed Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) assessment will be required as part of Viasat's pre-employment screening.

What Will Help You On The Job

• Ability to take direction and execute tasks accurately
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document incidents clearly and concisely
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Open availability to support day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as needed

Salary range $14.18 - $22.6 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $17.79 - $26.44/ hourly At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
