Peer Advocate
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Advocate to join our team at Rise 2 Growth on Staten Island, NY. As a Peer Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs. We're a team of licensed professionals in speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavior support, and care management, committed to providing exceptional care and support to our clients. Responsibilities:
Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals, promoting independence, self-advocacy, and personal growth
Facilitate groups and one-on-one sessions, engaging participants in meaningful discussions and activities
Build and maintain relationships with clients, families, and caregivers, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each individual's needs
Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized support plans
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to confidentiality guidelines
Requirements:
1 year of experience in a similar role or related field (e.g., social work, counseling, or peer support)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and therapeutic skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
What We Offer:
$25 - $30 HOURLY compensation
