The Director of Data and Learning Analytics (DDLA) leads the strategy, systems, and practices that ensure FirstLine Schools uses data effectively to drive student learning, organizational improvement, and strategic decision-making. The DDLA is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data systems that capture and communicate information about student achievement, school performance, and organizational outcomes.

This role serves as the district testing coordinator, overseeing all state and network assessments to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting. The DDLA manages data collection, reporting, and visualization processes across departments to promote data literacy and inform both instructional and operational decision-making.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Schools and Operations Teams to build clear, user-friendly systems for accessing and interpreting data; lead analyses that identify trends and guide action; and provide professional development and coaching to leaders on using data for continuous improvement. The work is fast-paced, analytical, and highly collaborative—requiring strategic thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex information in clear, actionable ways.

Position Responsibilities :

Data System Management Usage

  • Administers PowerSchool SIS and all related data systems in a google environment
  • Manages PowerSchool database and maintains relationships with all related vendors
  • Ensures functionality of data warehouse including management of related vendors
  • Plans and leads PowerSchool trainings for new and returning staff
  • Responsible for summer system maintenance including but not limited to ensuring data rollover processes, state reporting completion, and system readiness for start of each school year
  • Organizes and analyzes personalized learning data for use by leaders and teachers

Data Analysis

  • Collaborates with school and network leaders to develop, refine, and maintain data dashboards
  • Provides analysis of key trends in student and staff data to school and network leaders
  • Leads the analyses of data from varied systems to identify strengths, weaknesses and trends for the network as a whole, its schools and the individual operating units
  • Analyzes results from state and internal testing, preparing dashboards and trackers that effectively communicate student performance
  • Monitors and communicates testing completion rates to ensure that 100% of students test by  communicated deadlines.
  • State Reporting

  • Serves as lead District Security Coordinators for all LDOE data systems
  • Ensures full compliance with all LDOE deadlines related to data reporting
  • Manages EdLink user access to ensure staff have access to the necessary platforms
  • Manages access to LDOE SFTP sites and related files
  • Personalized Learning

  • Manages ordering process for all blended learning software licenses
  • Manages Clever account to troubleshoot and support user access for blended learning programs
  • Manages vendors related to personalized learning programs
  • Organizes and analyzes personalized learning data for use by leaders and teachers
  • State Testing

  • Provides strategic leadership as District Test Coordinator for all state-mandated assessments, ensuring full compliance with LDOE policies and Bulletin 118.
  • Owns all aspects of state testing across the network, maintaining centralized oversight of policies, timelines, communications, and documentation to ensure consistent execution at every school site.
  • Designs and implements systems and workflows that promote accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to security protocols.
  • Coordinates with school and network leaders to align on testing administration logistics, priorities, and expectations to maximize student participation and data integrity.
  • Leads and develops School Test Coordinators, equipping them with the tools, training, and support needed to ensure strong testing implementation at the school level.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to LDOE, proactively managing policy questions and updates
  • Oversees district-wide technology readiness in collaboration with the Director of IT.
  • Results-Based Innovation

  • Leads innovation of SIS and other data systems to best support the organizational learning objectives
  • Supports rapid iteration and learning during pilots and provides recommendations on how to scale
  • Ensures that adopted innovations are grounded in results and have thoughtful transition strategies
  • Provides support for scaling innovations, including design and delivery of professional development as needed
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Collect and analyze data and to monitor implementation of existing personalized learning programs and practices, and provides recommendations on how to improve performance
  • Collaborates with school and network-based staff to integrate data analysis and personalized learning into existing practices
  • Identify, deliver and / or support responsive professional development to support continuous improvement
  • Development and Planning

  • Analyzes internal and external trends in data systems and personalized and / or personalized learning to inform long-term strategic planning
  • Leads identification and procurement of systems
  • Serves as a thought partner to the Talent team to inform data driven decisions related to Impact Bonus
  • Team Management

  • Supervises, manages, and evaluates the performance of the data department
  • Provides regular, high-quality professional development to school-based Data FOAs, in partnership with the entire data department and the Operations Team
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
  • Creates a strong sense of team to drive continuous improvement and efficient coordination of activities
  • Follows the FirstLine performance management process for all members of the data department
  • Develops and implements annual professional development plan for data department members
  • Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in data management, information systems, and / or personalized learning fields required
  • 3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Strong data and analytical skills required; SQL Experience preferred
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence reporting platforms strongly preferred
  • Experience with Louisiana state testing as a school testing coordinator or district testing coordinator preferred

  • Comprehensive understanding of curriculum and instruction, including at least three years experience in a highly successful school
