The Public Relations Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Communications and will work with digital, social media, and multimedia personnel as well. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to :
- Manage the development and implementation of multi-platform public relations strategy for AAU
- Implement public relation and social media plans to promote the AAU brand in the media, at events
and other related activities
Write copy for press releases, website, social media, and other communication materialsDevelop and maintain external communications (newsletter, press releases, social media)Analyze and measure results of PR, social media and marketing effortsIdentify and act on opportunities to promote AAU, increase exposure and educate the community onissues related to the AAU
Assist with promotion, advertising and overall AAU marketing initiativesQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communications, social media, marketing or publicrelations, related field required
Minimum of 4 years’ experience requiredStrong writing, proofreading and editing skills a mustExperience with drafting and distributing press releases a plusExperience with social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube a plusExperience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plusKnowledge of sports, especially the youth sports industry, a mustKnowledge of video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere a plusKnowledge of photography a plusMust be able to successfully pass an AAU background screeningCompany Description
