Primary Purpose : To manage the day to day activities of the national marine operations; and manage marine surveyors and adjusters responsible for conducting inspections and surveying marine vessels to assess, monitor, and report on the condition and submit claims.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

• Manages a team of surveyors and adjusters.
• Investigates various aspects of marine transport operations and claims.
• Ensures compliance with various standards or specifications.
• Inspects equipment intended for new or existing vessels.
• Performs a detailed unbiased assessment of the condition of a vessel to determine quality and safety.
• Recommends repairs according to regulations.
• Provide evidence in support of damage claims and submits reports.
• Monitors all operational expenses including P&L and produces budgeted contribution margins.
• Conducts various surveys including but not limited to : damage surveys and condition surveys.
• Reviews file inventory to comply with statutory requirements.
• Maintains all safety protocols according to regulations.

Qualifications :

Education & Licensing : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience : Ten (10) years of experience as a marine surveyor with management and business development responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills & Knowledge :

Physical : Computer keyboarding, travel as required. Must be able to stand and / or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to kneel, squat or bend. Must be able to work outdoors in hot and / or cold weather conditions. Have the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, reaching / working overhead. Be able to lift / carry up to 50 pounds. Be able to push / pull up to 100 pounds. Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day. Must have continual use of manual dexterity. Auditory / Visual : Hearing, vision and talking

Compensation : As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is 50-80k.
