Full-Time Director of Clinical Services at La Amistad Behavioral Health Services

Minutes away from Orlando, La Amistad Behavioral Health Services has two locations, our adolescent campus is in Maitland Florida and 6 miles away is our adult campus located in Winter Park, Florida. The Director of Clinical Services (DCS) is responsible for the overall leadership of Residential, Partial and IOP levels of care for both the adult program and the adolescent program. This includes managing the program managers, social service team, mental health techs, recreation therapist, staffing coordinators, interns and all programming. The DCS also sets the clinical vision and overall clinical direction of the facility in partnership with the MD and administrative staff. Additionally, this position plays a key role in La Amistad's multidisciplinary approach to patient care in the form of collaboration with MD, nursing, HIM, marketing, admissions and UR staff.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties :

  • Supervise / manage Program Managers and their direct reports (therapists and MHT staff) associated with LABHS PHP and IOP levels of care to ensure compliance with policies
  • Create an atmosphere of client-centered professionalism with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Reports directly to the CEO / COO and provide necessary leadership of the clinical staff (including staffing, data collection, policy compliance, chart compliance, and regulatory compliance)
  • Provide necessary support to clinical staff working on the floor based on needs (therapist, MHT)
  • Conducts specialized groups as assigned based on education, training and experience.
  • Establishes rapport, systematically gathers data; determines client's readiness for treatment and change. Analyzes and interprets relevant data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities.
  • Coordinates with treatment team, family and residents in family caseload and implements discharge planning
  • Has understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses. Can recognize associated behaviors and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
  • Documentation as required by facility Policy

Education : Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or other related fields.

Experience : Minimum of 2 years clinical experience with mental health and substance abuse treatment. Prefer experience in a clinical managerial role related to RTC, PHP, IOP levels of care.

License / Certification : Current license from the State of Florida, such as LCSW, LMFT, LMHC

Skills :

  • Good verbal and written communication skills related to documenting assessments, treatment planning and interventions into a meaningful document. Must be able to communicate with members of interdisciplinary treatment team, managed care representatives, children, adolescents, adults and resident families in a clear and concise manner
  • Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques as related to cultural, social, economic, communication and role expectations within family systems
  • Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective treatment strategies within the overall treatment plan
  • Physical Requirements : Minimal. May require response to crisis intervention
