Operations Manager
The position is to provide leadership in the areas of operation, maintenance, and construction of systems and infrastructure while assuring system reliability, public and employee safety, cost effectiveness, and proper asset management.
Essential Functions
- Leads the Safety Program for the area of responsibility.
- Leads the integration and compliance of the Substation Operations Work Management System
- Integrate and promote the human performance concepts.
- Performs regular job site observations.
- Co-Leads the develop and monitor the training of department personnel.
- Directs daily functions of Supervisor(s) in the areas of field specific maintenance, construction, and emergency work
- Leads all Substation maintenance capital projects, including (initiation, planning, and execution).
- Leads and coordinates utilization of company management systems for maintenance areas within the area of responsibility.
- Develop the overall maintenance, construction, and schedules for the area and assures coordination with other departments, districts, customers, and other areas as required.
- Administers clerical and physical union agreement.
- Responsible for the development of the annual Capital and O&M budget.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate department capital allocation needs.
- Develop and maintain equipment risk profile, ensure project plans are in alignment with available budget needs.
- Coordinates with other departments in identifying Capitol replacement of equipment in their operating area.
- Approves all time sheets, vacation schedules, and expense accounts within the area of responsibility.
- Communicates system changes with employees in their area.
- Reviews reports on abnormal system conditions, analyzes the problem, and initiates corrective measures.
- Coordinates standby responsibilities for the area.
- Be engaged in all emergencies pertaining to major equipment and system issues.
- Works with appropriate groups for restoration of service.
- Promotes and utilizes company associated equipment and technology.
- Participates in the interviews of prospective employees and recommends hiring as well as discharging.
- Periodically assumes duties of the Regional Manager.
- Participates on committees and attends seminars as required.
- Participates in all storm and or emergency activity across the territory as needed.
Required Qualifications for Position
