American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU night shift position requiring an active ID or compact license, BSN, and NICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 61 beds across 24 roomsPatient population includes premature infants (22 weeks and above), respiratory distress, surgical patients, and feeder / growersNurse to patient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3Use of advanced neonatal respiratory equipment including Drager, Servo, HFJV, HFOV, Nava, Cpap, and nasal cannulaNight shift hours from 7p-7a; weekends and holidays as neededFloating may be required to Peds, PICU, nursery, Mother Baby, or lower acuity NICUs at other sites, based on experienceEpic EMR is used; experience with Epic is required or expectedJob duties include care of critically ill neonates, managing respiratory support, and administering / titrating various dripsCharge RN does not take patient assignments and travelers will not act as charge RNSupport staff includes 1-2 nurse aides or patient care techs per shift24 / 7 in-house neonatologist and neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) support availableNo tele / monitor techs on this unitHospital blue or personal scrubs are allowedOrientation includes two shifts on unit and an additional shift for review with an educatorNo self-scheduling; scheduling is coordinated with the unit scheduler and may not allow blocked scheduling or special requests\n \n Requirements\n
Active ID or compact RN license required at the time of considerationBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredBLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications requiredMinimum 2 years NICU RN experience required, or 1 year NICU experience plus other RN experienceMust be able to titrate drips including morphine, dopamine, and epinephrineDriver’s license required for considerationTwo professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last three yearsCompliance with facility’s 50-mile radius rule; no local candidates within 50 milesPermanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before applying as a traveler\n Benefits\n
