Job descriptionKey Responsibilities : Prepare patients for examination by taking medical histories, vital signs, and assisting with the physical examination as needed. Administer medications as directed by the physician. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up appointments and referrals. Handle front office duties including answering phones, greeting patients, and managing correspondence. Assist with insurance verification and billing processes as necessary. Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and adequately stocked with supplies. Collaborate with healthcare team members to improve patient care and operational efficiency. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Keep abreast of developments in medical technology and procedures through continuing education and training. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required. Physical Requirements : Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
