Summary :
As an Emergency Department Technician, you will play a vital role in patient care, supporting our dedicated nursing staff and ensuring a safe and organized environment for our patients. This position combines responsibilities of various support roles, including ED Tech, Patient Registrar, Unit Clerk, and Monitor Tech. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes in our fast-paced emergency setting.

- Support the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
- Monitor and observe patients’ conditions, reporting any significant changes to the RN.
- Assist in safely escorting stable patients to other departments as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the patient care environment by cleaning, procuring, and returning equipment and supplies.
- Contribute to inventory management by assisting with ordering and restocking of necessary supplies.
- Showcase your skills by performing specialized procedures such as venipuncture, splinting, nonsterile dressing changes, pulse oximetry, and more.
- Set up for Emergency Department procedures and assist RNs as delegated.
- Operate patient monitoring equipment and document necessary readings under RN supervision.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Adapt your patient care approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Assist with clerical tasks, including reception duties and maintaining patient records.
- As a Patient Registrar, greet and assist patients professionally, ensuring their comfort during the registration process.

- Participate in other duties as assigned to support the team.
Requirements : Education / Skills :
High School Diploma or GED preferred.Completion of an educational program such as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, or equivalent military training.Experience :
1 to 2 years of relevant patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications :
BLS certification is required.De-escalation training must be completed within 90 days of hire.Must maintain one of the following certifications : Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Patient Care Tech, EMT-B, or EMT-I.Work Schedule : Varies
