Department / Unit Summary

In this role, you will provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will meet the physical, psychosocial, religious / cultural needs of patients and their families while effectively communicating with all members of the healthcare team about changes in patient conditions or responses to treatment. Basic PC skills are required, and you must be able to work on a smoke-free campus while being flexible, organized, and able to function under stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned and requested.
• Complete focused patient assessments with regular reassessments.
• Assess and manage pain using appropriate techniques.
• Provide patient care and communicate effectively with patients of all ages and specific needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their correct administration.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Ensure patient safety and reduce the likelihood of errors in care.
• Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education : Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
