Parts Manager-Automotive Dealership
A well-established automotive dealership is in need of an experienced Parts Manager. The rapid growth of our company has created a demand for someone who can step in and hit the ground running. Five (5) years of Parts Management experience with a dealership is required.
Responsibilities :
- Obtaining and maintaining proper inventory levels of parts and equipment through inventory tracking and the replenishment process
- Source, order, and receive parts for diesel trucks, engines, and related equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts
- Control inventory costs by managing stock levels and minimizing obsolete parts
- Implement systems for quick and accurate parts retrieval to reduce technician downtime
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value
- Track backorders and ensure timely follow-up for critical repairs
- Coordinate closely with service advisors and technicians to ensure parts availability matches work schedules
- Provide accurate quotes for parts costs and availability to the service team.
- Troubleshoot and research hard-to-find or discontinued parts
- Administrative & Financial Duties
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and warranty returns
- Monitor parts department KPIs (fill rate, turns, gross profit margin, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all other employees
- Filling orders from the field and the fabrication shop
- Update parts and inventory activity in the System
- Identify and liquidate obsolete goods from current inventory
Qualifications
Five (5) plus years of experience in parts management, preferably in aa automotive dealership environmentStrong knowledge of automotive truck components, engines, and repair processesProficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft OfficeExcellent organizational and multitasking skillsStrong negotiation and vendor management abilitiesEssential mechanical abilities a mustProven organizational skills for prioritizing, planning and implementingDemonstrated ability to effectively track, manage and coordinate parts and equipmentRequired Qualifications
Experience with OEM and aftermarket parts sourcingFamiliarity with fleet maintenance and DOT requirementsPrevious leadership or supervisory experience is a plusAbility to lift 50 LBSHighschool Diploma or GEDOur company is an equal employment opportunity company with a drug free workplace.
