Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neonatal ICU RN with a CT or compact license, BLS and NRP certifications, and at least two years of NICU experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level I NICU within a short-term acute care hospitalPrimary patient population is critically ill neonatesPatient ratios average 1 : 2-4Required to work every other weekendNo on-call responsibilityTravelers must float within their scope as needed3x12 hour shifts available for both days (7 : 00-19 : 00) and nights (19 : 00-7 : 00)Uses Epic for charting; experience is preferredBlock scheduling requests are not accommodatedMain responsibilities include providing advanced nursing care for critically ill neonates, managing central and peripheral lines, and performing OG / NG feedings and phlebotomyFirst-time travelers are acceptedNo local candidates accepted; candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facilityReturn travelers must have a two-year gap since previous employment at this facilityPre-assignment modules must be completed before startingApplicants are expected to participate in emergency response activities as neededRTO greater than 7 days requires approvalRequirements
Active CT or compact state RN license (pending license accepted if active by start date)Minimum two years of NICU RN experience; may consider 1.5 years with Level I or travel experienceCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredExperience required with IVs, central lines, OG / NG feeds, and phlebotomyLarge facility trauma center experience requiredFlu vaccination required with no declinations acceptedCOVID-19 vaccination and booster required; only religious / medical exemptions allowedReference required for considerationBenefits
