Assistant Department Produce Manager

The Assistant Department Produce Manager is responsible for supporting the direction and supervision of the Department Produce Manager in all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department. The role ensures that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store.

Job Type : Full-Time

Shift : Morning, Day, Evening (Varies Per Store Needs)

Description :

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Assists the Department Produce Manager with the successful operation of the department
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided
• Shared responsibility for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels
• Receives, stores, and stocks a wide variety of products
• Works directly with the Department Produce Manager in ordering products to meet the needs of the produce department
• Pulls out of date product from the produce areas
• Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
• Be active involved with teaching, mentoring, and educating associates to help them be successful members of the team
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and / or Store Manager
• Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors
• Travel Required : No
