Job Description Overview
As a Financial Analyst at Brookfield Residential, you'll play a key role in shaping our financial planning and decision-making. Working with limited supervision, you'll prepare, analyze, and report on complex financial forecasts and budgets, providing insights that drive business performance. You'll dive into income and expense analysis, maintain detailed financial schedules, and ensure our reporting meets corporate standards and policies. Key Deliverables
- Ensure that the financial information is accurate, reliable, and produced in a timely manner, leveraging Brookfield Residential's Vena financial reporting tool.
- Prepare and analyze month-end, quarter-end, and year-end schedules.
- Prepare financial planning deliverables for month-end and quarter-end, including corporate reporting, financial memos, margin analysis, Sr. Management reporting, quarter-end management meeting packages, etc.
- Perform and review operational analysis on items, such as closings, margins, schedule reviews / analysis for accuracy and errors, etc.
- Use information obtained from other departments through meetings and other sources to analyze and explain financial and operational results.
- Identify trends in financial performance and use system data to produce projected financial performance.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis, as requested.
- Update, maintain, and enhance financial models in Vena.
- Work with Business Units to raise awareness of budget overages and cashflow variances.
- Update, maintain, and coordinate the distribution of FP&A templates.
- Collaborate with senior operators to gather information necessary for ensuring the accuracy of our project proformas.
- Provide support and information to other departments.
- Communicate findings back to Director, Finance and Accounting team to work together to resolve any issues.
- Ensure that data within our existing system is accurate and up-to-date.
- Play a key role in the Corporate / division forecast process.
- Cash Flow prepare of monthly, quarterly, and annual cash flow forecasts and variance analysis, as well as any monthly, quarterly, and annual predictive borrowing bases.
- Business Plan - assist in the creation of divisional continuities, creation of detailed business plan rollups (including non-salary G&A, fixed assets, financing and other misc. description items), as well as any detailed analysis required on results.
- Operation Income prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual guidance updates, as required.
- Automation / IT projects (e.g., automation work, report creation / changes, etc.)
- Streamline and automate processes making efficient use of financial systems.
What You'll Bring
Obtained a bachelor's degree in either Finance or Accounting.1 to 3 years of relevant experience.Experience in forecasting and planning, budgeting, analysis, and managing financial models.Strong finance and accounting knowledge.Proficient and experienced in Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Self-motivated, comfortable taking initiative and possesses superior organizational skills.Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities with limited oversight.Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Experience in real estate would be an asset.What We Offer
