Manufacturing Engineer

Summary

Our client is seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support operations in Statesville, NC. This role is responsible for driving process improvements, enhancing product quality, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives in a dynamic, resin-based production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial or mechanical engineering, with experience in polymer or composite manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization : Analyze and improve resin molding, curing, and finishing processes to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Continuous Improvement : Lead Kaizen events and apply lean tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, etc.) to eliminate inefficiencies.
• Technical Support : Provide engineering support to production teams, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Quality Assurance : Collaborate with QA to investigate defects, implement root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, PFMEA), and drive corrective actions.
• Project Management : Lead capital improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and layout changes, from concept through implementation.
• Documentation : Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation to ensure compliance and repeatability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with R&D, Maintenance, and Operations to support new product introductions and process scale-up.
• Safety & Compliance : Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
