Your role as a ROUTE VAN SALES REPRESENTATIVE

As a Route Van Sales Representative at QC Supply in Sedalia, Missouri , you'll be the master of all things Customer Sales and Service on your Route Van. From the moment you engage with our customers you will be building a strong partnership and enhancing the business relationship to grow sales and provide excellent service.

What you need to be successful

To excel as a Route Van Sales Representative at QC Supply, you'll need a diverse skill set to tackle the varied tasks at hand. From utilizing technology to generate sales to researching the necessary products needed by our customers, attention to detail is key. You'll be providing product solutions, so an understanding of agriculture / livestock is beneficial.

Physical stamina is a must, as you'll be driving and on your feet for a significant portion of the day and may need to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Individual must pass a background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening and have a clean driving record. Candidate must be able to lift over fifty pounds. Customer relations experience highly preferred.

Role and Responsibilities

The Route Van Sales Representative will possess strong computer, organizational and written communication skills. Sales and customer service skills along with a high attention to detail are essential both in-person and via phone. No college degree required, will train the right person.

  • Create and fulfill pull lists for customers' orders to be delivered.
  • Count and return items coming from customer back to warehouse.
  • Help monitor mobile inventory levels and report the shortages or concerns to the Office / Location manager.
  • Must be able to operate machinery (forklift, delivery truck and trailer ).
  • Establish a weekly delivery schedule to bring customers products based off input from Locations Sales Representative.
  • Establish and maintain a good business relationship with customers.
  • Promote C&E (Consumables & Equipment) sales and generate sales leads and report back to Location Sales Representative / Location Manager.
  • Be cognitive and follow all bio-security policies for any customer.
  • Keep up with maintenance schedule and curb appeal of the delivery vehicle.
  • Assist in the Warehouse with daily responsibilities - verification, staging and put away of inbound product; picking, packing and shipping product to customers and other QCS sites and other duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 2+ years of relevant customer service and sales experience.
  • Experience utilizing portable technology while running sales and delivery route.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced customer driven environment.
  • Agriculture experience is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to climb stairs; stand; walk; sit; handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, load, drive, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally as required.
