Responsibilities : Ironworkers may perform any combination of tasks to assist on the construction site. This position performs a wide variety of duties and tasks that often require assisting other tradespeople, including laborers and carpenters. Responsibilities include :

• Connecting columns, beams, and girders with bolts or welding them into place
• Reinforcing / tying rebar in concrete construction
• Unloading and stacking prefabricated steel
• Using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld steel
• Placing and setting heavy machinery
• Erecting and / or dismantling structural steel frames of structures
• Operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to lift steel columns, beams, and girders according to blueprints
• Working at heights and from aerial work platforms
• Rig structural-steel members to hoist cables using chains, cables, or rope

Qualifications : A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial construction, preferred. Proficient in industry tools and equipment, such as hand and power tools and welding devices. OSHA 10 preferred. Operator's certificate, preferred. Detail-oriented, well-organized, and ability to multi-task. Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts. Able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted, and stand for extended periods.
