Senior Project Engineer – Heavy Civil & Structural
Location : Norwalk, CT
Engtal is partnering with a leading heavy civil contractor recognized for delivering complex transportation and infrastructure projects across Connecticut. With strong self-performance capabilities—including structural concrete, steel work, and major civil scopes—the team maintains exceptional control over quality, schedule, and safety.
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support and coordinate structural and civil operations on large-scale infrastructure projects in the Norwalk area. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical foundation in heavy civil work who excels in detailed coordination, engineering support, and field-driven problem solving.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the planning, engineering, and execution of structural and civil scopes from design through completion.
- Coordinate closely with field teams, subcontractors, fabricators, inspectors, and design partners.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
- Assist with schedule updates, quantity tracking, cost control, and change management.
- Provide field engineering support, including layout coordination, constructability reviews, and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project-specific engineering requirements.
- Contribute to developing means & methods, sequencing plans, and technical work packages.
Qualifications :
4–7+ years of experience in heavy civil, structural, or infrastructure construction.Strong understanding of structural systems, steel or concrete operations, and civil construction practices.Experience working on transportation, bridge, or major infrastructure projects preferred.Proficiency with construction documentation, scheduling tools, and field engineering processes.Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with field teams and contribute to high-quality, safe execution.Why Join :
