Founded in 1912, Devereux is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the US providing services, insight and leadership in the evolving field of behavioral healthcare. Devereux has a comprehensive network of clinical, therapeutic, educational, and employment programs and services. Devereux is also a trusted partner to work with vulnerable populations, such as those with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization currently operates 16 centers in 12 states and has over 6,500 employees across the country, impacting the lives of more than 11,000 children, adults and their families every year. Devereux operates a network of clinical, therapeutic, education and employment programs that positively impact the lives of thousands of children, adults - and their families - every year. This includes acute care, treatment in residential settings, community-based living, special education day schools, foster care, autism assessments, employment and transition services, group homes, school and family consultation, traditional and therapeutic foster care, and outpatient / other specialized services.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A psychiatrist by training, the Chief Medical and Clinical Officer (CMCO) is the top medical and clinical executive in the organization responsible for all medical, clinical and nursing efforts - including strategy, analysis, process improvement, policies, procedures, practices and outcomes. This individual provides leadership in achieving the Devereux strategic objective to be the "Provider of Choice" and promotes Devereux's national reputation as a leader in the field.

Working closely with the entire Devereux executive leadership team, national directors and center directors across all locations, the CMCO is responsible for leading practice and changes in the medical and clinical environment, and developing quality programs and competitive strategies to support the continued improvement of services. In carrying out the work, the CMCO helps further integrate and streamline the 16 centers across the country in order to deliver more effective, supportive, efficient care for our individuals and their families. The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong expertise in the contemporary behavioral health landscape, and can lead medical and clinical improvements through relationships and influence. The CMCO will be comfortable using data and metrics to inform benchmarking, decision making and prioritization of initiatives - amidst a medically and clinically complex landscape. EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS

An MD or DO is strongly preferred. Board eligible or board-certified psychiatrist or internal medicine physician preferred. The Chief Medical and Clinical Officer must also maintain an active license to practice medicine.
