Phlebotomist

What You Will Do

As a Phlebotomist, you will demonstrates confidence and skill in the application and management of venipuncture in a highly specialized, complex collection environment.   The hours of this position are Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm.

The Opportunity

• Reviews laboratory schedule : resolves or verifies orders as complete in the electronic medical record
• Correctly identifies patient and record by name / date of birth
• Explains process and reassures patient and / or family member(s)
• Performs venipuncture / finger sticks per order
• Captures and reports important medical data to nurse / provider
• Responds quickly to syncopal episodes; notifies nurse / provider
• Processes, packages, and stores specimens for courier pick-up or mailing
• Orders and maintains adequate laboratory supplies
• Maintains a clean, organized environment demonstrating a commitment to infection / exposure control and quality assurance
• Terminally cleans lab at close of business
