Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience, including inpatient care, for an assignment in a critical access hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in a Physical Therapy department within a critical access hospital serving a rural communityPatient population includes inpatient, outpatient, rehab, swing bed, some pediatric (mostly 5+ years, sports injuries), and predominantly older adults and geriatric patientsFrequent diagnoses include total joints, stable stroke, stable TBI, stable traumas, falls, and general weaknessAverage daily census is around 10 patients with 25 beds in the facilitySchedule is Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, with no weekend or on-call requirementsHoliday coverage includes one holiday per contractMay split time between two locations approximately 35-40 minutes apartCerner Oracle is used for inpatient documentation and Cederon for outpatient; Meditech used at Shelby until Fall 2025Primary responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for a diverse patient population across multiple care settingsTeam includes at least one other PT, a PTA, a front desk receptionist, and accessible management supportDaily team huddles are conducted with providers and the nursing teamOrientation includes a week on the unit and necessary facility onboardingBusiness casual dress code is required; jeans are permitted on FridaysFree parking is available on siteHousing options are available near the hospitalFirst-time travelers will be considered for this roleTime off requests require manager approvalRequirements
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredMontana PT license required if applicableMinimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required, inpatient preferred though other experience consideredProficiency in gait training, mobility training, use of lift devices, and strength trainingExperience working within an interdisciplinary healthcare teamBenefits
