Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg position requiring a MO or compact license and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care hospital on the Medical-Surgical unit
  • The unit includes 39 beds, with 24 MS / tele beds handling patients primarily for pacemaker monitoring, potassium level management, and basic telemetry
  • Patient ratio is typically 1 : 6
  • Night shifts are 12 hours, scheduled as 3 shifts per week (7p-7a)
  • Charting is done using Meditech, with experience highly preferred
  • First to float to other Med / Surg units within the RN's scope
  • Royal blue scrubs are required and are not provided
  • RNs will provide care to a diverse Med / Surg patient population with some telemetry needs but no acutely cardiac patients
  • May float to other Med / Surg units as needed
  • Royal blue scrub attire required; scrubs not provided
  • Housing should be secured in advance due to local housing shortages
  • Hospital may cancel one shift every four weeks
  • First time travelers will be considered

    • Requirements

  • Current MO or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg nursing experience
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required (ACLS and NIHSS may be obtained during placement process if not current)
  • PALS certification required
  • Experience with Meditech EMR is highly preferred
  • Basic telemetry experience beneficial but not required
