Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Circulator for an Operating Room position in a peri-operative setting, requiring a current AK RN license and at least two years of OR nursing experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Surgical Services / Operating Room of a hospital setting
  • Serve as a Circulating RN responsible for all peri-operative patient age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adults
  • Typical shifts include Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, 3x12 hour (7am-7 : 30pm), or nights (7pm-7 : 30am) with on-call night shifts
  • No floating to other units required
  • Unit has 20 rooms with a 1 : 1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Uses computerized charting with Meditech
  • Facility-provided scrubs are required for dress code
  • Deliver and coordinate peri-operative care using the nursing process for a broad age range of patients
  • Coordinate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, pre- and post-op nurses, and surgical techs
  • May be asked to train or mentor other nurses in the OR
  • On-call responsibilities are part of the required schedule

  • Active AK RN license
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider or CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • At least two years of recent OR circulating RN experience
  • Moderate sedation and PACU experience highly preferred
