- Job Overview
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. This role involves working with diverse pediatric populations. The Occupational Therapist will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through therapeutic interventions and support. This is a full-time position based in Fargo, ND.
- Job Duties :
- Assesses and interprets patient evaluations and determines occupational therapy treatment plans
- Administers individualized treatment plans to facilitate patients ability to meet physical, psychological, and social goals
- Helps patients regain functional independence through therapeutic activities and exercises
- Provides guidance and education to patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Documents patient progress, treatment plans, and interventions accurately and within designated timeframes
- Stays updated on the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy practices
- Maintains patient confidence by keeping information confidential
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging
- Ability to work effectively in a clinical setting with diverse and pediatric patient populations
- Providing quality care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in complex situations pertaining to pediatric therapy
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
- Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with patients, colleagues, community resources, referral sources, and other stakeholders
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in occupational health, case management, or critical care settings preferred
- Previous experience in a pediatric setting preferred
