MVCC's School of Humanities invites applications for part-time AdjunctInstructors . We are seeking Instructors to teach courses in thefollowing disciplines : Composition,Film / Art / Music Appreciation, History, Literature, Effective Speech, CollegeFoundations, and ESOL.

Adjunct faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Courses are taught in a traditional classroom setting. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and availability of the individual and the School needs. Please note : Successful candidates must be able to teach in-person. Courses available for the upcoming semester are in-person only on the Utica Campus between the hours of 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm.

Overview of Job Duties :

Facilitate classroom instruction; Teach assigned class in accordance with thelearning objectives; Develop and maintain syllabus materials; Evaluate studentperformance; Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades; Respond promptlyto student inquiries; Maintain attendance records according to MVCC standards;Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into thelearning process; Maintain professional standards that protect studentconfidentiality; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing usingdiscretion, patience, and courtesy.

Successful candidates must reside in New York State and have the ability to work on campus as required.
