Description : POSITION SUMMARY :
The Director of Oncology Strategic Initiatives plays a key leadership role in advancing the strategic growth of the oncology service line. This position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing initiatives that drive clinical program expansion, market share growth, physician recruitment, and strategic partnerships for oncology services. The Director collaborates with physicians, clinical leadership, marketing, finance, and external partners to position the cancer program as a regional and national leader in cancer care.
This is a hybrid remote position in the Tampa Bay area.
CORE ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead strategic planning efforts for oncology growth, including business case development, financial proformas, and market expansion strategies.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for service line development, including new programs, locations, partnerships, and technology investments.
- Collaborate with physician leaders to assess recruitment needs and support the development of compelling business plans for new providers and subspecialties.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, healthcare partners, and community organizations to enhance referral networks and regional presence.
- Complete market analysis, competitor intelligence, and strategic forecasting to support agile decision-making.
- Partner with marketing and communications teams to support brand positioning, service line promotion, and patient outreach campaigns.
- Support contract negotiation and onboarding of vendors, partners, and consultants.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), patient volumes, and financial outcomes to inform ongoing strategy adjustments.
- Represent the oncology service line at internal strategy or service line meetings and external forums as needed.
- Develops presentations and leads strategic meetings and planning efforts.
- Perform additional responsibilities or special projects as needed to support the success and growth of the oncology service line.
Requirements :
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, or related field required.Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or related field preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare strategy, planning, business development, or oncology program management.REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSE OR REGISTRATION
Certified Professional in Healthcare Management (CPHM) preferred
