Responsibilities Position based in a 349-bed acute care teaching hospital with Level 2 trauma designation Covers general surgical, oncology, nephrology, and post-surgical care patient populations Float to all medical / surgical floors, ED hold, and observation unit as needed Care includes management of chest tubes, CPAP / BiPap, trach care, various drains and feeding tubes, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, line management including PICC / Central lines, Port-A-Cath and vascular device access and care, wound vac Responsibilities involve telemetry interpretation, and blood product administration including use of cooling and warming blankets Uses Cerner EMR system; prior experience preferred Shifts are 12 hours, 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, with weekends and holidays required as needed Duties include comprehensive telemetry nursing care, advanced device and line management, and post-surgical patient care Work within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment Holiday and weekend coverage required as scheduled Scrub or uniform requirements will be provided during orientation Returning travelers may require an eligibility review process if previously employed at this health system Requirements Active NY RN license required at time of consideration American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience in medical / surgical or telemetry required Experience with specialized equipment including chest tubes, CPAP / BiPap, trach care, and vascular devices required Epic experience preferred but not required Two professional references from previous managers in current discipline or specialty required Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a reduced pay rate Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621452.
