Department : Public Works, Transportation Division

Compensation : $ 60,405.29 to $72,127.07 Annually

Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HRA-VEBA, Long-Term Disability AD / D, and Employee Assistance Program. Retirement contributions start after one-year all paid by the City at 13.5% of base wage.

Status : Full-time, FLSA Non-Exempt, SEIU Represented

City of The Dalles, Public Works is hiring our next Equipment Operator in the Transportation Division. If you enjoy working outdoors and would rather spend more time moving than at a desk, this may be the opportunity for you!

What does an Equipment Operator do in a typical work day?

Equipment Operator daily assignments will vary, but duties include :

• Asphaltic concrete overlays, slurry seals, and chip-seal projects
• Operates a variety of equipment, including dump trucks, loader / backhoe, front end loaders, cranes, service pickups, paint striping equipment, snow plows and sanders, street sweepers, graders, paving equipment, tractors
• Performs designated service and preventive maintenance to street systems, storm water collection infrastructure, and parking areas
• Performs street crack sealing duties, street cuts and repairs, street patching
