Weather First, let's dispel the rumors about the winters here. Yes, it is cold in January and February but the sun shines and we barely get half of the snowfall that Buffalo and the rest of our state gets. However, we have the distinct fortune of being just 30 minutes from one of the best ski / golf resorts in the Northeast Holiday Valley and happily, they do get snow. Snowboarding, downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing abound from late December through mid-March most years.

Enjoy a Work / Life Balance : Head northwest for a half hour and you ll be skiing on the wonderful slopes of Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, New York.
