Director, Analytics Engineering - 10863

Overview

Coupa seeks a highly experienced Director of Analytics Engineering to lead our Analytics Engineering team. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in analytics engineering, data modeling, and leadership, with the ability to build scalable data products, manage multiple projects, and partner with business stakeholders. Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and DBT is essential, with deep knowledge of Snowflake, Fivetran, and other ETL tools.

What You'll Do

• Team Leadership & Development : Lead and mentor the Analytics Engineering team (including analytics engineers and Tableau developers), build a high-performing function, and foster data quality and engineering excellence.
• Analytics Engineering & Data Modeling : Drive robust data models supporting a hybrid reporting structure (governed self-service reporting), participate hands-on in data transformation and modeling, and design / optimize data models and architecture for analytics needs.
• Data Pipelines & Semantic Layers : Oversee development and maintenance of data pipelines, transformations, and semantic layers.
• Business Partnership & Delivery : Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand analytics needs; collaborate across teams to define requirements, scope, and deliverables; manage end-to-end analytics projects from requirements to deployment and maintenance; enable governed self-service analytics with well-documented data products.
• Technology & Innovation : Evaluate new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency; monitor performance, scalability, and reliability of analytics solutions (dashboards, reports, data pipelines); stay current with industry trends in analytics engineering and modern data stack technologies.
• Data Visualization & Insights : Oversee Tableau development and dashboard design to uncover insights and drive data-driven decisions; ensure governance and best practices across reporting deliverables.
