Registered Nurse - ICU - PRN Position

Description

Join our dedicated Intensive Care Unit team, consisting of a state-of-the-art 10-bed facility that specializes in caring for critically ill adults and the elderly. We perform essential procedures including intubations, mechanical ventilator management, arterial line insertions, and more. Our team handles an average daily census of 8 and monitors up to 24 telemetry units. Common diagnoses include Myocardial Infarction, Congestive Heart Failure, and COPD, among others. Surgical conditions we frequently manage include appendectomies, laparotomies, and hysterectomies.

Summary :

As a competent Nurse in a critical care setting, you will practice independently, demonstrating a thorough understanding of complex clinical situations. You will provide routine and complex care, maintain long-term goals, and manage nursing contingencies effectively. You will also delegate tasks to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities :

• Provide nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families, identifying issues and resources.
