The PACU operates 24 / 7 with 38 patient bays and maintains an average daily census of 70-90 patients. The facility provides comprehensive surgical services and specializes in high-acuity patient care, requiring critical care expertise for patients who may need artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive medications. The unit has its own patient care technician and transport team, and offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams.
