About The Position

Certifications : Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD must not expire during term of assignment)

Must-Have : High School Diploma or equivalent

Description :

Every other weekend is required.

Large, busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services for multiple facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers.

Facility also provides emergency services for the area.

The role requires disassembly, cleaning, sterilization, reassembly, and packaging of sterile supplies according to specifications or manufacturer instructions while following department protocols.

Operates washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.

Adheres to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.

Retrieves used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical areas for decontamination.

Examines instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.

Identifies malfunctioning items, records related information, and promptly notifies the supervisor or biomedical engineer.

Assists in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.

Performs required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.

Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds is required.

Manual dexterity and the ability to stand, bend, lift, and / or reach for extended periods are required.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and follow oral and / or written instructions is required.

Scrubs are provided and must be laundered on-site.

Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered.

No nail polish is permitted.
