Sr. Manufacturing Quality Engineer – CMM, PPAP, APQP

Work Type : Permanent | On-Site

Location : Greensburg, IN, USA (Candidates within 150 miles preferred)

Experience : 8–25 Years

Compensation : USD $85,000 – $103,000 per annum

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to act as the liaison between customers and production teams, ensuring that products and processes consistently meet quality standards. This role will lead quality initiatives for new product launches, mentor junior quality staff, and champion internal and external problem-solving teams. The position involves working closely with customers, engineering, suppliers, and production to maintain and improve quality systems, implement CMM inspections, and manage APQP and PPAP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, train, and implement CMM inspections.
  • Prepare and submit PPAPs in accordance with company and / or customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve operational processes and quality outputs.
  • Develop and enforce quality standards, inspect materials, processes, and products, and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as Quality Assurance representative for APQP and launch-related activities.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineering, and production to resolve quality issues and lead internal and external problem-solving teams.
  • Serve as associate member of the Material Review Board.
  • Conduct supplier quality system surveys in conjunction with Purchasing and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Submit and obtain customer deviations as needed.
  • Audit internal quality systems and drive improvements.
  • Mentor and train Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors.
  • Provide monthly cost forecasts to the Quality Manager.

Must-Have Skills

  • BS degree in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of quality engineering experience.
  • 4+ years' experience with PPAP and APQP (including new product launch activities).
  • Minimum 3 years' CMM programming experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience with GD&T, reading and interpreting prints.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • US Citizen, Green Card holder, or TM Visa holder.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Supplier quality management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
