We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our team in Erie, Pennsylvania. This contract-to-long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee various financial operations, contributing to the overall success of the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities :
- Reconcile monthly bank accounts and address any discrepancies or issues with banking transactions.
- Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of payments.
- Support accounts payable operations, including processing invoices and payments.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Analyze financial data, compile reports, and conduct account analyses as requested.
- Oversee intercompany transactions, including billing and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure compliance with sales and use tax requirements by filing monthly returns with various states.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify and address delayed payments or non-payments.
- Assist in preparing for and coordinating the audit process to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Required education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a large manufacturing environment.Excellent communication skills.Competencies
Proven experience of accounting in a manufacturing environment.Familiar with SAP or GP preferable, other ERP experience can be substituted.Excellent skills are required in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Demonstrated proficiency and experience in handling large volumes of data.
