Overview
Private Practice with freestanding and hospital-based locations seeking Full Time or Part Time Radiation Oncologist, Board Certified / Board Eligible, for career building opportunity at a newly built state-of-the-art hospital-based Cancer Center.
Tacoma / Valley Radiation Oncology Centers seeks a knowledgeable, compassionate, caring physician for a full time / part time practice opportunity. Our group is expanding its footprint to Washington's Kitsap Peninsula which is a short ferry ride to Seattle. The suitable candidate will be working in a new hospital-based, state of the art, large, comprehensive cancer center, equipped with 2 Varian Truebeams, SRS capability, ARIA, and Eclipse planning system. The cancer center includes strong support teams including social work, dietary services, cancer support groups, and patient navigators. We anticipate treating approximately 40 patients shared between 2 radiation oncologists. This is an incredible career building opportunity!
Focusing on safety and quality, our established, freestanding clinics are accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology. (We utilize IMRT, SBRT, IGRT, Gamma Knife, Hyperthermia, Radionucleotides as well as Brachytherapy for breast, prostate, skin and gyn.) Support staff includes RN's, dosimetry and in-house physicists.
Our offices are located on the beautiful Puget Sound, conveniently located in Tacoma, Puyallup, Gig Harbor and Silverdale. We are in close proximity to exceptional colleges and universities. There are ample year-round cultural, recreational and outdoor activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide radiation oncology patient care in a hospital-based cancer center and freestanding clinics.
- Utilize planning systems and treatments including ARIA and Eclipse; operate with 2 Varian Truebeam machines; participate in SRS capability, IMRT, SBRT, IGRT, Gamma Knife, Hyperthermia, Radionucleotides, and Brachytherapy as applicable to patient care.
- Collaborate with strong support teams (social work, dietary services, cancer support groups, patient navigators) to coordinate treatment and patient support.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and quality / safety initiatives.
- Share patient load with a second radiation oncologist; contribute to practice growth and development.
