Field Service Mechanic:
On behalf of our Heavy Equipment industry client, Procom is searching for a Field Service Mechanic for a permanent role. This position is onsite at our client’s Enfield, Connecticut office.
Field Service Mechanic - Job Description:
The Field Service Mechanic will perform field-based maintenance, safety inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and refurbishments on mechanical and hydraulic equipment at customer or company locations. This role ensures quality service delivery, compliance with safety standards, and a positive customer experience while following all technical and administrative best practices.
Field Service Mechanic - Responsibilities:
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment specifications and service procedures
• Communicate with customers professionally and effectively to ensure satisfaction
• Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Inspect, diagnose, and perform maintenance or repairs as directed
• Manage time, materials, and tools effectively to optimize productivity
• Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance service efficiency
• Identify and communicate potential sales or service opportunities
Field Service Mechanic - Mandatory Skills:
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems
• Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic drive systems
• Basic computer literacy and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in diverse field conditions
• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills
• Valid DOT Medical Card (1-year minimum)
Field Service Mechanic – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• CDL preferred if operating CDL-class vehicles
• Welding certification
• Equipment operator licenses in accordance with local or state requirements
• Technical or vocational training in mechanics, hydraulics, or electrical systems
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
