TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Gilbert, Arizona, 85297!

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Must-Have :

  • Strong cardiac telemetry background, preferably 2 years.
  • Ability to decrease cardiac drips per physician's orders and parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips.

Description :

This is a telemetry position requiring telemetry skills.

Candidates will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting employment.

Travelers are allowed a maximum of two attempts to pass the dysrhythmia exam.

Failure to pass will result in a DNU (Do Not Use) designation for 6 months.

There is also a PASS / FAIL SIM LAB on the first day of orientation.

Failure in the SIM LAB will also result in a DNU designation for 6 months.

The unit consists of 60 ED beds and 31 ED beds.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 4.

Common diagnoses are ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily medical-surgical / telemetry patients.

Travelers do not need prior travel experience.

RNs may be required to titrate drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.

There are available ED patient care technicians.

No ventilators are available, but CPAP and BiPAP equipment are present.

There are no monitor technicians in the emergency department; nurses will read strips.

Shifts are 12 hours, either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Self-scheduling is allowed but may change.

Weekend requirements include working 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.

Holidays are rotated in with permanent staff.

There is no call or standby requirement.

RNs may float to medical-surgical, telemetry, overflow units, as needed.

Navy scrub color is required.

RNs may be asked to assist with ED patients, which includes obtaining vitals, starting IVs, and administering medication.

RNs will not be assigned as primary nurses for ED patient assignments.

The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.

Charting is completed using the Cerner system.

A BSN degree is not required.

This is an acute care setting in the nursing division.
