Survivor Support Account Specialist

Overview

Position Location : Raleigh, NC. Hybrid role. Must live local to the Raleigh area.

Job Summary

The Survivor Support Account Specialist ensures proper estate disbursement and release of information to third parties; researches and resolves issues; ensures audit compliance, security, and safety of financial records; detects account fraud to mitigate and prevent Credit Union loss; and acts as the subject matter expert for all inquiries concerning deceased account processing.

Responsibilities

• 50% Handling account needs of deceased Credit Union members. This includes such things as updating accounts, providing information for court claims, processing federal claims reimbursements and appeals, etc.
• 20% Providing exceptional customer service to joints, heirs, POD (payment upon death) designations, and other related account holders or third parties; recommending appropriate products and services applicable to heirs
• 10% Serving as the subject matter expert for leadership and peers, resolving escalated customer service issues, and providing training / direction to less experienced team members.
• 20% Reviewing financial records for audit compliance, security, and safety.
