Job Description
You'll join KPFF's General & Administrative (G&A) team in Seattle, collaborating with project managers and staff across multiple offices. This group supports the firm in payroll, benefits, accounting, and IT. As a Project Accountant, you'll play a key role in helping project managers understand financials, keep projects on track, and strengthen KPFF's overall operations.

How You'll Contribute
Project Cost Management & Invoicing
Issue timely, accurate invoices in close coordination with project managers.Monitor project budgets and burn rates; flag potential overruns or billing issues early.Ensure financial integrity through precise coding, thorough documentation, and reconciliations.Financial Insight & Integrity
Produce monthly WIP and revenue reports that drive accurate recognition and forecasting.Support month-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, and project-level analyses.Develop and share financial metrics that reveal project performance trends.Collaboration, Training & Process Improvement
Offer clear, approachable financial guidance to project teams across offices.Drive consistent project setups and ERP practices through cross-functional collaboration.Convert financial data into actionable insights that help leaders make informed decisions.Identify and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy and team efficiency.Qualifications
About You
You bring 38 years of hands-on finance or accounting experience with exposure to project-based work. You're proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable advising others while digging into data. Just as important, you're energized by KPFF's mission and the work we do, and you take pride in contributing to projects that shape communities.
38 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related fieldBackground in project-based financial management, including invoicing, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and subconsultant coordinationExperience with project setup, WIP tracking, and ERP or financial systemsStrong Excel skills; proficient with Word and PowerPoint for reporting and presentationsAbility to explain financial concepts in simple, clear languageProven record of improving processes and documenting workflows for efficiencySelf-starter with a trusted advisor mindset who takes ownership of outcomesComfortable working with project managers, administrators, and leadership across multiple locationsAdditional Information
Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Duties are typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer tableAbility to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day and communicate over the telephone or virtual meeting platforms.May occasionally need to lift items up to 15 lbs.This is an in-office role based in downtown Seattle with flexible hours between 7 : 00 am and 5 : 00 pmBenefits

We provide a competitive base salary that reflects your skills and experience. For candidates with 38 years of relevant experience, the typical range is $75,000$90,000. In addition, we reward both individual and team achievements with performance-based bonuses at the Reporting Center level.
