About The Position

Shift : D / E / N Rotating.

Description :

Provide direct nursing care to students, including those with chronic health conditions or disabilities.

Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed by a physician and in accordance with school policies.

Monitor and manage students’ health plans, including individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans.

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support students’ medical and developmental needs in the classroom setting.

Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or emergency care as required.

Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with state and federal regulations (FERPA, HIPAA).

Participate in IEP meetings to provide input on students’ health-related needs.

Educate students, families, and staff on health topics, safety, and disease prevention.

Ensure compliance with New York State Department of Health and Department of Education requirements.

Qualifications

Education :

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

License :

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York (required).

Certifications :

Current CPR and First Aid certification required.

Experience :

Previous experience in pediatrics, public health, or school-based nursing preferred.

Excellent communication, organizational, and assessment skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in an educational environment.
