Key Responsibilities :
- Schedule appointments with eligible clients and owners of single and multifamily properties for pre- and post-inspection of energy efficiency units, coordinating with intake staff for specialized outreach to the handicapped, elderly, or hard-to-reach clients.
- Conduct energy audits and surveys which would include identification of existing air infiltration conditions, measurements of attic and wall areas, testing of heating equipment, etc., to determine the kinds of conservation improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate contractor walkthroughs for clarifying scope of work for bidding purposes, as necessary.
- Monitor work in process by subcontractors to determine that work performance and materials used are in conformance with accepted standards as required by the funding source.
- Conduct technical screening of single-family energy efficiency projects submitted by Home Performance Contractors across the state.
- Conduct quality control inspections for Home Performance Contractors statewide.
- Perform post-inspections on all energy efficiency projects completed to ensure that work performed meets required standards, equal amounts invoiced, and that necessary certificates are displayed.
- Coordinate inspections in conjunction with utility program multifamily projects to ensure compliance with installation guidelines.
- Provide energy conservation training through demonstrations and written materials to weatherization clients as required by program and state guidelines.
- Install weatherization materials on a demonstration basis to illustrate conservation principles.
- Screen and input gas projects for authorization.
- Update gas utility program software billing and reporting systems.
- Manage gas program electronic and paper files.
- Produce required billing and reporting data to gas utility funders in compliance with contract guidelines.
- Prepare reports and assemble data as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise :
A minimum of a high school diploma / GED or equivalent and up to 6 months of relevant work experience is required.Some experience in conducting energy audits is required.Strong knowledge of Massachusetts building codes required.Experience with the Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Program is highly preferred.Certification and membership to the Building Performance Institute (BPI) are highly preferred.Ability to interpret state and federal conservation program guidelines is highly preferred.Good mathematical and detail skills.Ability to record audit findings accurately.Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.About Action for Boston Community Development, Inc., (ABCD) :
