Job Summary:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure. This includes ensuring network security, optimizing performance, and providing technical support to faculty, staff, and students. The role requires expertise in networking technologies, protocols, and best practices to support a reliable and secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain campus-wide network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal uptime and security.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect against cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support servers, cloud-based solutions, and enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to faculty, staff, and students regarding network-related issues.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations with minimal disruption to company operations.
- Research and recommend new networking technologies to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning, backup management, and business continuity strategies.
- Ensure compliance with compay policies, industry standards, and government regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
- Experience with firewall management, VPNs, and network security best practices.
- Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, or other networking equipment.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network+) are preferred.
