Job description

Works as a hands-on

IT Manager in charge of WuXi AppTec’s Manufacturing location in

Middletown, Delaware .  The position

will manage both infrastructure positions along with first level

application support personnel.  The Manager will also perform

those individual duties as needed, more so at the start and less as

more staff are hired based on the site’s construction / expansion

plans.  All work will happen in a collaborative environment

with the manager being a conduit and process owner working with the

engineering groups and higher-tier IT

support .

Manages Infrastructure and

technical support positions. Role consists

of : Working with

Engineering, Shared Service Infrastructure and Enterprise

Application groups to make sure the uptime of the systems at the

site adheres to SLAs and maintains cGMP compliance.

Serves as an

escalation point for ongoing

issues.

Training and

coaching of staff on the technical and customer service functions

of their positions.

Provide ongoing

feedback to staff, including performance reviews.

Verify operations are

being met according to SLAs using standard

tools.

Will

work with, but not limited to, the following Software. SAP S / 4

HANA, Labware LIMS, Waters Empower, Aveva PI, Kepware, Citrix, MES,

and MS Office

Applications.

Perform

hands-on technical support on infrastructure and applications where

needed.

Working with

Shared Service Infrastructure,

maintains : VMware

configuration and

provisioning

OS and

application Installation and administration.

Security for

individual servers and

computers

Backup and

replication for servers and applications.

Remote

access

management

Ensures

the data and security policies in place are followed by staff and

that procedures / activities are conducted

accordingly.

Evaluation

of hardware and software products, and providing

recommendations

Establish

and maintain pertinent policies,

standards, and

procedures.

Be

on call and available after business

hours

Perform duties

in compliance with applicable regulations and standards such as

Sarbanes-Oxley Act, FDA Quality System, including part CFR21 Part

11, and ISO (International Organization for Standardization).

Resolve issues around regulations in regard to IT Infrastructure

systems.

Experience /

Education : Bachelor’s

degree in CS / EE or related scientific field.

6+ years of relevant

experience, or

equivalent.

Experienced

in Infrastructure and Application

support.

Knowledge

/ Skills /

Abilities

Knowledge

of the software development lifecycle process.

Experienced in

managing projects for both infrastructure and application projects.

Experience coaching

and mentoring staff with vastly different skillsets.

Experienced in

Microsoft Office and common productivity

programs

Effective

communication and interpersonal

skills.

Ability to

work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines, and show

flexibility towards peak workloads or urgent

assignments.

Ability

to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in

direction.

Ability to

work in a team

environment.

Demonstrate

initiative; be proactive, responsible, and self-managed in relation

to tasks.

cGMP

experience is highly

desirable.

Familiarity

with GMP systems such as LIMS, MES, automation, and historian

software is

desirable.

Well

organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to

changes.
