Location : Plano, TX

Job Type : Travel Contract

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 3×12s Days

Pay : $2,073.60 / week (plus $2,450 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,350 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Plano, TX on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns requiring advanced monitoring and life-sustaining interventions. The ideal candidate has strong NICU experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in the NICU.
  • Monitor and manage vital signs, oxygenation, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other advanced life-support equipment.
  • Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and specialized neonatal treatments.
  • Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide education and emotional support to families regarding neonatal conditions, treatment plans, and discharge preparation.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the medical record.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and best practices in neonatal critical care.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in Texas (or compact eligibility).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent NICU nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); ACLS and PALS preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical decision-making skills.
  • Compassionate and family-centered approach to neonatal care.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
