We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team in Miami, Florida. This role is integral to supporting procurement operations for a dynamic mechanical construction company. The ideal candidate will manage vendor relationships, oversee purchase orders, and ensure the timely delivery of quality materials and services.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Director to execute daily procurement tasks and long-term purchasing strategies.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders for materials, tools, and subcontracted services.
  • Research and source competitive pricing from multiple vendors to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to meet project requirements effectively.
  • Monitor and update pricing databases for frequently ordered materials and equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals to ensure they align with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Track material deliveries and address any issues related to quality or shipment delays.
  • Ensure procurement practices adhere to company policies and project specifications.

  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry, preferably mechanical construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and vendor pricing structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to source materials, negotiate vendor agreements, and manage quotes effectively.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with mechanical construction, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, is a plus.
