Position : Direct Support Professional (DSP)

As a Direct Support Professional , you will support a young adult with autism and complex behaviors in achieving personal goals, developing independence, and participating actively in the community. This role involves providing one-on-one support in both home and community settings, with a focus on behavior support, skill-building, and meaningful engagement. The ideal candidate would have a calm and consistent approach, which is essential for maintaining safety and structure across various environments.

What's the job like?

Behavioral Support : Use positive behavior support techniques to assist with emotional regulation and manage complex behaviors in a respectful and proactive way.

Community Integration : Help build social skills, support participation in community activities, and foster positive, inclusive experiences in a variety of settings.

Outdoor Engagement : Support the participant in engaging with the outdoors through activities such as hiking, walking, and exploring the community. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy being active and spending time outdoors.

• Relationship Building : Foster a trusting and supportive relationship through patience, consistency, and compassion.
• Experience : While prior experience with autism or behavioral support is helpful, it's not required. We offer thorough training to the right candidate. This position is ideal for someone who is active, attentive, and able to remain focused in dynamic situations.
• Schedule / Location : This position is located in Hakalau and is full-time (40 hours / week, Monday through Friday).
