Overview :
Sentara is hiring an IV Pharmacy Technician for our Home Care Team
Location : Charlottesville, VA
Status : Full Time (40 hrs / wk)
Shift : Days
Hours : 8 : 30am-5pm
No Weekends or Holidays
The Pharmacy Tech II Clinical p erforms the technician responsibilities of clinical pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
- Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently
- Assumes local and / or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions
- Participates in the training of new employees
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist / licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care
- T raining in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)Certification / Licensure
Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB (Required)Experience
